"Your wedding should be fun for everyone involved, including your best man and groomsmen." - Laura Michaud.

Laura Michaud designs and makes custom pocket squares and coordinating bow ties for weddings and special occasions at her own company called The Maine Square.
"So often I hear groomsmen complaining about purchasing their attire. It can be quite expensive. Finding the right accessories to match the wedding colors and theme can be challenging to find, causing unnecessary stress. I figured that I could at least help with the accessory part while also creating a keepsake." -Laura Michaud.
The Maine Square offers custom-made bow ties and coordinating pocket squares personalized with a monogram or an embroidered design. Give these pocket squares and bow ties as a token of appreciation for your best man and your groomsmen. In addition, they can also serve as a souvenir. They can even wear them again for other special occasions that should come up in their lives.
Laura explained that some people ask her to embroider a design such as a small state of Maine or a lobster on the pocket squares that she makes. Others prefer a monogram of each groomsmen's initials. Either way, you will be giving a personalized gift to your groomsmen that will represent your most memorable day. In addition, you will be alleviating stress, therefore making everyone feel relaxed, which is how your wedding day should be.
If you are a bride or a groom-to-be, take some of the pressure off your wedding party by giving them the accessories you would like them to wear. Not only will they thank you for making things easy for them, but they will also have a personalized gift that will remind them of your special day for years to come.

Real Maine Weddings 2018
Real Maine Weddings 2018 Wedding of The Year is one of the highlights of my career at The Maine Square. It was an honor to create the men's accessories for Jackie and Phil, who got married in beautiful Ogunquit, Maine, in October 2018.
I first met Jackie and Phil in the spring of 2018 at Blush Bridal and Formal. I had designed an array of bowtie, necktie, and pocket square samples while keeping in mind their color scheme.
I honestly was a bit nervous as I sat down to show them, hoping and praying that I had made at least one thing they liked! Sometimes I get very nervous when showing my art to people. You never know what people are going to think!
They ended up picking out the most beautiful blush color for their groomsmen bow ties and pocket squares. Phil, the groom, picked out the same blush color, but in a more traditional necktie style. They chose to have their groomsmen pocket squares embroidered with a tiny state of Maine on them and gave them as a keepsake gift. Phil's pocket square was a paisley pattern that included several coordinating colors.
The fun did not end with making these unique accessories. Real Maine Wedding's invited me among other vendors to attend the welcoming evening party in Ogunquit, Maine, on Friday before their wedding. It was lovely to meet the lovely couple again and many of the vendors who donated their time and services to Real Maine Weddings to make this beautiful event come together.

Custom Made Shawl
A few months ago, a lady asked me to make her husband a necktie and a pocket square out of my beautiful blue lightweight cotton hydrangea print fabric for a wedding they will be attending this August. I am always honored when a customer reaches out and asks me to design something special for them. It means so much to me to create something for one of the most memorable days of their lives.
A month or two went by, and I heard from this same lovely lady again through my online contact form. She asked if I could make her a shawl out of the same lightweight cotton blue hydrangea print fabric. I honestly had never made a shawl before, but this came out beautifully! She will coordinate with her husband perfectly.
My favorite thing to do in the whole world is helping people look and feel they are the very best. I most always will be able to achieve my customer's desires, within reason, of course. Learning to sew back in 2016 was one of my most significant accomplishments. I have developed a love for garment and accessory construction. Over the past five years, I have become fluent in the art of operating a sewing machine in ways that create accents to compliment your look.
If you question whether or not I could bring your accessory idea to life, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. My contact form is available right HERE, or you could even schedule a FREE fifteen-minute Zoom call with me to meet and discuss your thoughts over a video chat.
